U.S. President Donald Trump ruled out the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei today, saying that he had instead sustained serious injuries.

In a television interview, Trump said: “I don’t think he’s dead. He was very badly injured,” referring to injuries on the left side of his body, including his arm and leg.

Trump added that Iran’s domestic situation is marked by high inflation and a sharp decline in the value of its currency, claiming that some Iranian soldiers are not receiving their salaries.

He also pointed to the difficulty of organizing protests in Iran due to the presence of snipers on rooftops, according to his account.
